TESTIMONIALS

So these last few weeks I’ve been in Manchester a lot mid week while we’ve been filming the next series of Dragons’ Den, and even though they’re long (and I mean REALLY long) filming days, I still like to get up and go for my run on a morning! It just sets me up for the day, puts me in a positive frame of mind, gets the endorphins flowing and makes me feel great!

Problem is, I love my evenings too, and we don’t finish filming sometimes til 9pm and then it’s great to go for dinner with the other Dragons (and I’ll not lie - one or two (or more) glasses of wine after!) so I’m hardly ever in bed before midnight, and that makes the 5.30 starts a bit a struggle, and I know how easily I fall off the bandwagon, so I googled ‘running coach Manchester’ and found the lovely Steve from Hatton Running and I pre-booked (and pre-paid) for a 6am session every morning we were filming so that no matter what I would still go.
And it’s been absolutely the push I’ve needed and I’ve loved it! He’s there every morning, has planned some amazing routes so I’ve been able to see so much of Manchester, he protects me from the geese and then pushes me a little bit harder every day to go a little bit longer, a little bit faster and push myself just a little bit more.

'I have had the pleasure to work with Steve over the past 2 years and have seen my running grow from strength to strength. I am one of "those" excited runners who may get carried away on the odd occasion and Steve is not afraid to provide you with a reality check and a dash of honesty; always coming from a good place whilst listening to you, providing that grounding and balance which I have come to realise is so important'

'Steve was so helpful when I told him I had a place in The London Marathon. As an overweight 40 year old whose running was very sporadic - he didn’t judge me! He listened to what my routine was and what time I could commit and then created me a personal training plan. He was always on hand to answer any questions and offer advice. He’s very approachable, professional and friendly.'

Heather, London marathoner - amazing effort on a v hot day!

'I began working with Steve to prepare for my second marathon. Steve is an excellent coach who offers a great deal of  encouragement and support. . We discussed my goal of an under 4 hour marathon and  he put together a manageable , yet challenging 12 week  training plan. The plan incorporated my existing yoga practice, strength training, cross training and rest as well as range of  distances and paces, which kept it interesting and I was able to  maintain my motivation. Steve followed my training closely and adjusted my plan as needed. He always responded quickly to any questions I asked. Steve is very knowledgeable and always had lots of great advice and hints and tips to help with all aspects of marathon preparation and on the day of the race itself, in particular pacing and fuelling. Thanks to Steve’s fantastic coaching  I was able to go into the race feeling physically and mentally prepared and achieve a PB of 3:41 which was a amazing 26 minutes off my time the previous year. I was so pleased and so grateful to Steve for helping and supporting me to achieve such a fantastic time.

If you are looking for a PB or even just to incorporate better habits into your running routine. I would highly recommend working with  Steve. He was an absolute pleasure to work with.'
